The purpose of GAN-ə-meed Theatre Project is to advance the role of women in theatre.
The fact is that only 20% of people employed in theatre are women while graduates from M.F.A. and B.F.A. programs in theatre arts are 60% women.
It is not through the exclusion of men that this can be fully accomplished.
Women do not live alone in the world. They live within a society of men, women, and transgendered individuals. It is for this reason that we welcome artists of all genders with the hope that we can draw upon these varied works and contributions to further our mission.
